Congress leader and leader of opposition K Jana Reddy strongly condemned centre’s ordinance pertaining to merger of seven Polavaram submergence-prone mandals of the district with residuary Andhra Pradesh. He urged chief ministers of both the states to have bilateral discussion and think about the protection of public interest of those mandals.
Talking to media following the passing of ordinance K Jana Reddy claimed that central government did not consult Telangana government before taking any decision. He asserted that merging the mandals of one state into another state without discussion is unconstitutional. He maintained that tribals will suffer the loss due to merger while we want preservation of culture and heritage of tribals.
