Juvenile gang leader again flees from remand home

New Delhi, May 16: A 17-year-old boy, accused of heading a gang of juveniles involved in burglaries and then setting their targets on fire, today again escaped from a remand home in the capital — the seventh time in as many years.

The juvenile, apprehended on March 19, escaped with 16 others from the remand home in north-west Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar early this morning.

“Seventeen juveniles escaped from the remand house by scaling the boundary wall. There was a scuffle between guards and the boys. They managed to scale the walls of the remand home,” a senior police official said.

After eluding law for sometime, he was caught on March ten when he allegedly attempted to rob the house of one Lalita in Pillanji village in Sarojini Nagar. Five days later he managed to escape from the remand home with 27 others.
