Justin Timberlake named the most charitable star

Los Angeles, January 04: Popstar Justin Timberlake has been named the most charitable star of 2009 for his contribution to help sick children by raising almost USD 10 million. The ”Sexyback” hitmaker has been named the most influential celebrity for charitable causes in a survey by US website The Daily Beast.

Timberlake has raised USD 9,198,072 for his favourite good cause, Shriners Hospitals for Children. The 28-year-old singer was followed by the ”Queen of Pop” Madonna who came second in the list, having garnered funds worth USD 5,501,835 for her Raising Malawi foundation, while former ”Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson was third, raising USD 4,806,750 for animal rights organisation People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The top five list concluded with media mogul Oprah Winfrey and her Oprah’s Angel Network on the fourth, and U2 frontman Bono with his ONE foundation on the fifth spot respectively.
