Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju lauded the moves taken up by the government in Andhra Pradesh for the upliftment of minorities. In a meeting with Principal Secretary Minority Welfare I Rani Kumudini and other officials of Minority Welfare, he got acquainted with the status of minorities and Urdu language. Principal secretary Minority Welfare made him aware of the measures taken by the government for promotion and development of Urdu language and hike in budget for the economic and educational development of minorities.
Also present on the occasion were Commissioner Minority Welfare and Managing Director Minority finance Corporation Mr. M A Waheed and Secretary/Director Urdu Academy Prof S A Shukoor.
