New Delhi: The Congress party on Friday said that now it is up to Retired Justice S.N. Dhingra to introspect and take a judicial decision on the land scam cases in Haryana, as whatever was said in his report would affect his own credibility.
The latter is probing land licences to companies, including that of Robert Vadra’s in Gurgaon.
Asserting that Justice Dhingra has been a fine judge, Congress spokesperson Tom Vaddkan said that allegations made against him are disturbing.
“What has come out in public domain is disturbing. Often it is seen that judges who have conflict of interest leave the assignment which is up to his wisdom to take a call when specially when these kind of allegations are made,” said Vadkkan.
“We are nobody to say anything, it is to be done in his own wisdom because it affects his own credibility, He has been a fine judge and we believe that in view of justice he takes a judicial decision in this matter,” he added.
After Justice Dhingra sought six more weeks to probe land licences to companies, including that of Robert Vadra’s in Gurgaon, the Congress party had accused him of compromising his position and taking undue advantage of his proximity to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The Haryana government has already extended the term of the Dhingra Commission of Inquiry twice.
The controversy around Vadra is based on a 3.5-acre plot in Gurugram, which he bought in 2008 for Rs. 7.5 crores and sold just months later for 58 crores to DLF, India’s largest real estate developer. (ANI)
