New Delhi: It seems that positive discrimination in India which allows reservation for the backward sections which are socially and economically weak did not realise to full extent.
In an RTI filed to ascertain the number of Vice-chancellor posts allotted to SC, ST, and OBC sections, it was found that out of a total of 496 vice-chancellors, the number of posts together allotted to SC, ST and OBC sections are just 48.
So, it’s official: SC+ST+OBC= 70% in population, but less than 10% among Vice Chancellors (48 out of 496). Social justice? pic.twitter.com/8BolikQ6FH

Out of 496 vice-chancellors in total, there are 6 SC, 6 ST and 36 OBC Vice-chancellors.
On one hand we strive for the upliftment of the weaker sections, on the other hand there is gross discrimination in the distribution of opportunities to the voiceless sections of the society.
