New Delhi: All is not well in Modi government, BJP and NDA. The clear picture came to light when the triple talaq bill was passed in Lok Sabha. Opposition and Muslims were already against the triple talaq bill but the absence of some members of allied parties and members of BJP in Lok Sabha indicated that even the party members do not approve this move of the government.
Presently, the number of MPs in Lok Sabha belonging to NDA is 307 however, when the voting for triple talaq bill was done in Lok Sabha only 245 votes were cast in the favour of the bill while 62 MPs didn’t vote. 11 voted against it. Principal opposition party Congress, AIADMK and other opposition parties walked out.
