Jupally reviews NREGS implementation

Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Jupally Krishna Rao today visited TSIPARD and later conducted a review meeting on NREGS implementation. He instructed that IEC material should be made available and the department should release pamphlets (brochure) listed with types of works.

He also stressed that livelihood assets should be created ex. Diary, Poultry, Farms etc. He felt 100 days employment for the needy is not the goal it should be increased at the earliest. The minister instructed to hire the services of experienced consultants from all trades, auditors and Engineers. “Hire the services of experience consultants from all trades and auditors assign them job and pay a fixed honorarium that way work will be done speedily and will not suffer due to shortage of workforce.

Minister instructed to have a team separate for estimation, designing rather than depend on other departments due to watch delays are being faced. They can provide design, estimations in minimum time and will be available full time to the department.

USAGE OF TECHNOLOGY: Minister advised to make optimum us of Technology by GPS and upload photos of work on the Minister request the officials went to Google to check the satellite images of TSIPARD. He instructed officials to check how much it would cost to connect to GPS to measure works and advised to file criminal cases where ever there are malpractices and initiate recovery. To display all works on website for better transparency and verification like structures etc., and Integrate ground reality with GPS to make everything transparent.

Waste Management: Minister instructed the Commissioner that all villages, towns should be clean by June 2 nd , total sanitations at Gram Panchayat Levels should be undertaken. Minister instructed high priority for Solid Liquid Management (SLW) for health benefits from safe disposal of different wastes that would contaminate the surroundings leading to overall quality of life and to collect the waste, screen the waste deportable from degradable and use composite pits for dropping for the same. And for Liquids waste use soak pits for waste water from bathrooms and Kitchen. Minister Instructed to launch on 27 th or 28 th as part of Telangana Sambaralu (Cleaning all villages Sanitation).

While reviewing on Telangana Palle Pragathi program he informed Officials to prepare booklets with full information which is self explanatory to advise the farmers on what to cultivate and the profits expected and let the farmers take a decision and also to prepare a business plan on the lines of AMUL and try emulate that business model. The Minister will undertake visit of District continuously from May 24. He will visit Adilabad, Nizamabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Khamamm as part of his tour. (NSS)
