Jugnauth meets Rajnath, other ministers

New Delhi: India and Mauritius on Friday discussed various issues including security cooperation as Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other Ministers called on visiting Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth here.

“During the meeting, Rajnath Singh and Jugnauth discussed bilateral relations and security cooperation, including maritime security and counter-terrorism,” a Home Ministry official said.

The official said that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere and reflected the mutual desire to deeper cooperation between the two countries. “Senior officers of Home and External Affairs Ministries were also present on the occasion.”

Jugnauth also held discussions with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Jugnauth, a person of Indian origin, on Friday arrived in Delhi on a three-day visit to India, during which he will hold talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. This is Jugnauth’s first abroad visit as Prime Minister.

He will hold delegation-level talks with Modi on Saturday after a ceremonial welcome, besides meeting Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Defence and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
