New Delhi, August 06: A Delhi court today extended the judicial remand of a suspected Maoist couple by 14 days as the police claimed the investigation against them were still pending.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja further remanded Gopal Mishra and his wife Kanchan Bala alias Anu to judicial custody till August 20.
Mishra and Kanchan Bala were arrested on April 26 and 27 respectively.
In a plea filed in the court, Delhi police’s Special Cell sought extension of the remand of the couple on the ground that they are yet to study the huge data with regard to seized CD/DVDs, laptop and pen drive from them.
Both the accused were alleged to be members of banned CPI (Maoist). They were alleged to be involved in promoting the organisation’s activities here.
A whole lot of propaganda material, books, documents and others were allegedly seized from their possession.
