Srinagar, March 22: A local court today extended by ten days the judicial remand of a senior BSF officer and a jawan arrested in connection with the killing of a teenaged boy in a firing incident which had triggered massive protests in the valley recently.
At the end of their six-day judicial remand today, Commandant R K Birdi and constable Lakhvinder Kumar were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate who extended their remand for ten days.
Birdi was arrested on March 4 after he surrendered to the police (City East) for questioning with regard to his alleged role in the firing incident that killed 16-year-old Zahid Farooq on February five at Brein-Nishat near here.
