Judd Apatow ‘disgusted’ by Hollywood sexual misconduct allegations

New Delhi: Filmmaker Judd Apatow feels “everyone should be alarmed” by the sea of sexual harassment allegations being made in Hollywood.

The 50-year-old is disappointed by the allegations brought against the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and others.

While appearing on the ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’, Apatow said, “‘My instinct is always to say the thing they say don’t say, which is like it concerns me as a father of two daughters it concerns me, but you shouldn’t have to have daughters to get that it’s disgusting. You should be able to say as the owner of a bird, I’m disgusted.”

He further added, “Everybody should be disgusted. It’s horrible. Women always knew men were disgusting and now men are going, ‘I guess we are disgusting.’ We didn’t know how terrible that we were.”

The ‘Trainwreck’ helmer noticed a recurring accusation against some men in Hollywood has been alleged ma******tion in front of accusers.

“Who knew that ma******tion was so popular? Everyone has to mas*****te in front of people. I always thought that the best part of mas*****tion was that you were alone and no one was judging you. Isn’t that why we like it? That no one is there to go, ‘What’s the matter with you?” noted Apatow.

This comes after Judd called on The Weinstein Company to be shut down after Weinstein was accused of sexually harassing a number of female employees and actresses over a period of almost three decades.

He also hoped it would lead to a drastic change in the treatment of women in the film industry. (ANI)
