Tehran, January 04: Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says attempts to Judaize al-Quds (Jerusalem) will only speed up the pace of the downfall of the Zionist regime of Israel.
“Zionists, who have no faith in religion or even God, now claim piety and intend to take away the Islamic identity of the Holy Quds,” Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with the Turkish-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group in Tehran on Wednesday.
“This ridiculous move is in fact the continuation of the colonialist polices of oppressors, which will not save the Zionist regime [of Israel], but also take the regime closer to the endpoint of its existence,” he stated.
The Iranian president further described the issue of Palestine as “the fundamental concern of the region and the entire world.”
Ahmadinejad said Israel is a tool in the hands of the enemies of humanity to create discord in the region and humiliate regional countries.
Colonialists have always been after the Middle East and they do not want any of the regional countries to become strong and developed, he explained.
“Regional governments and nations can collaborate to establish the dominance of Palestinians in the occupied territories,” he went on to say.
The head of Turkish-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group also expressed deep sorrow over the continued occupation of the Palestinian territories, namely al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque.
Murat Yildirim called on other countries to support the Palestinian cause.
