RTC Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU) leader Ashwathama Reddy thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for announcing fitment of 44 percent to the employees.
Speaking to the media after the Chief Minister’s announcement here on Wednesday, Reddy said that the Chief Minister announced one percent more than what employees demanded, though the Corporation is running on losses. Expressing happiness over 44 percent fitment, Reddy said that the employees will protect the Corporation by working hard. There was no history that any government announced 44 percent fitment to the RTC workers. “It is an occasion to write it in golden letters”, he asserted.
Stating that they were calling off the eight day strike, Reddy said that the workers will join their duties and exuded confidence that the workers would work hard. He has given a call to the workers to work hard to bring the Corporation to profits and said that the salary increase would range from Rs.3000 to Rs.22,000.
Later, the employees distributed sweets and celebrated by dancing and burning crackers. (NSS)
