The Jharkhand and West Bengal police launched a combing operation on Saturday in East Singhbhum district on the border between two states on information that a Maoist squad was in the area.
“We have launched a massive combing operation jointly with the CRPF at Amdapahari under naxal-hit Patamda police station bordering West Bengal for the Maoist squad,” Senior Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Kumar Jha said.
The Jharkhand police was engaged in the operation in the state and the West Bengal police was combing in the bordering area of Bandwan in Purulia district.
