Hyderabad, September 14: A minor, who left home on his father’s scooter without the knowledge of his parents, was crushed to death after he came under the rear wheels of an RTC bus at Asif Nagar on Sunday.
The victim, Mohd Tauqeer (14), was a resident of Toli Chowki and studying in Class VI at Morkah
High School in the same locality. Tauqeer’s father, Mohd Muneer, runs a kirana store near his residence.
The boy, without informing either of his parents, took his father’s scooter and began riding towards Mehdipatnam, police said.
He left home at around 10.15 am. “As Tauqeer was coming towards Mehdipatnam, an RTC bus hit thetwo-wheeler opposite Pulla Reddy College at Rethibowli. Tauqeer was thrown to the ground and the bus driver continued driving without noticing the fallen boy. Tauqeer came under the rear wheels of the bus and his head was crushed leading to his death,” Asif Nagar police sub-inspector Khaleel Pasha aid.
Even though the boy was a minor and not supposed to drive, the rash and negligent driving of the RTC driver led to the accident, police said. The bus driver fled from the spot. “We are yet to arrest him,” Khaleel Pasha said.
