Journalistic neutrality does not mean to be a silent spectator – Dr. Aslam Parvez

Hyderabad: In order to face the challenges in the present era, the students should make themselves conversant with the latest information. These thoughts were expressed by Dr. Mohammed Aslam Parvez, Vice Chancellor of Maulana Azad National Urdu University on the occasion the inaugural function of the five day workshop on electronic media organized by the Dept. of Mass Communication and Journalism. He further told that there is no substitute to reading and in the present era, only the study of syllabus does not guarantee their success. He termed the students as the Journalists of the future. He advised them to adopt the principle of objectivity and neutrality in the field of Journalism.

Chief Guest of the function, Mr. Kamal Khan, Resident Editor of NDTV in his key note address told that like every field of life, electronic media also has positive and negative aspects. Instead of grumbling about the negative attitude of the news channels, it is better to change the channel by taking remote control in your hands to respond to it. There can be no effective method of showing your dissent.

Prof. Ehtesham Ahmed Khan, Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of MANUU introduced the five day workshop and highlighted its importance and utility. Mr. Amer Ahsan, a student of Journalism conducted the meeting. Ms. Tahiyat Kulsum proposed vote of thanks.
