Journalist Syed Majeed-Ul-Hasan Passes Away

The last rites of noted journalist Syed Majeed-ul-Hasan, 60, will be performed in the city on Tuesday. Hasan died at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Thursday (August 2) following cardiac arrest, family sources said.

Hasan had worked with many prominent newspapers, including Business Standard, The Telegraph and The Asian Age, and magazines —- Business India, Business World and Sunday. He was currently working for a publication house in Jeddah. He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters. Hasan was the elder brother of journalist Syed Amin-ul-Hasan Jafri, who worked with Deccan Chronicle and is presently an MLC.

Hasan’s body will be brought to Hyderabad from Jeddah on Tuesday morning and kept at his home at I.S.Sadan, Santoshnagar Street No. 1 in the forenoon. The Namaaz-e-Janaza will be performed at Mecca Masjid after Zohr prayers. The burial will take place at Quadri Chaman, Jangammet in the afternoon.
