Journalists Health Scheme will continue unabated and provide health services, according to Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy. He was replying to a query of members during question hour at Council here on Saturday. The health scheme for employees and Journalists will continue and it was not stalled he maintained. There is no truth in some comments that the scheme has faced some problem and denied the merger of Arogyasri and Wellness Centers.
The Government initiated steps to strengthen the health scheme for the journalists and the employees in the state Lakshma Reddy said. We have asked the officials concerned for coordination for efficient implementation of the health scheme for the scribes and employees. He clarified that the CEO of the health scheme was shifted due to administrative reasons. The health minister further said that a new CEO will be appointed and also EO Gopinath for the scheme. He clarified that there is merger of Arogyasri and Wellness Centers as being stated in a section of media. These two are separate wings to provide health services he said adding that wellness centers will offer medicines and diagnose health problems. We are planning to set up a few more wellness centers at needed places in addition to existing four wellness centers he said. (NSS)
