Moradabad, July 20: Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, charged with denigrating Dalits after a speech last Wednesday, was released from jail here yesterday after being granted interim bail.
As she came out, Joshi described the charges against her as “disproportionate and illegal” and said she was “ready to go to jail 100 times and I will continue to fight for the poor, downtrodden and women’s rights”.
She also said Chief Minister Mayawati should resign on “moral grounds at the earliest”.
