Jon Bernthal opens up about his daughter’s coma which led him to drop out of ‘First Man’

Washington D.C. (USA) Dec 21 (ANI): Hollywood actor Jon Bernthal, who was all set to play the role of astronaut David Scott in ‘First Man’, was forced to drop out of the film after his daughter went into coma.

Opening up about the unfortunate turn of events, ‘The Punisher’ actor, in an interview with Men’s Health magazine, revealed that his daughter Adeline, who is now almost 4-year-old, had an unexpected seizure, following which she entered a coma. This led the actor to exit the Ryan Gosling starrer Neil Armstrong-centered movie.

Speaking about how his wife Erin Angle handled the situation in the best way possible, the actor said, “People talk about bravery like fake macho bravery, but my wife didn’t flinch.

“What I saw in my wife was courage and beauty unlike I’d ever seen,” he asserted.

The little girl was diagnosed with encephalitis, a viral infection that causes inflammation in the brain. Adeline remained in a coma for three days straight and when she did wake up, she was unable to recognize her family. She has since made a full recovery.

Angle and Bernthal also share sons Billy (5) and Henry (7).

After the actor dropped out of the film, his role went to Christopher Abbott, whose past credits include ‘Vox Lux’, ‘Sweet Virginia’ and ‘James White.’ [source_without_link]ANI[/source_without_link]
