London, July 26 : Angelina Jolie is all set to direct a film about children who were caught up in Cambodia’s Khmer Rouge regime for Netflix.
The ‘Unbroken’ actress has penned the script with Loung Ung referring to a memoir by a former child soldier, and the plot is adapted from Ung’s harrowing book First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, the BBC reported.
The 40-year-old actress-turned director said that she was deeply affected by the book as it expresses the pain children went during the war and promised that the film, which will also feature actress’ son adopted from Cambodia, Maddox, will be hard to watch.
The film will premiere on the streaming service in 2016. (ANI)
