Former minister Anam Ramanarayan Reddy today confirmed they were joining the TDP because construction of new capital city Amaravathi and development of Andhra Pradesh was possible only with ruling TDP party.
It may be mentioned here there were rumors that Anam brothers — Ramanarayan Reddy and Anam Vivekananda Reddy — are shifting localities to the ruling TDP. Putting a stop to the rumors, Anam Ramanarayan Reddy clarified that they are not joining the TDP for seeking any posts. “We have decided to join the TDP keeping in mind the future of the State. We fought on a number of issues while working in the Congress for decades. But, the vote bank of the Congress plummeted to 2.8 per cent.”
Ramanarayan Reddy said after the united State’s bifurcation, the Congress party was not able to come out from problems it was facing. “We are ready to take any responsibility if we were offered in the TDP,” he added.
Meanwhile, it was reported that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has given green signal for admitting Anam brothers into his party. (NSS)
