A Senior Management delegation from Johnson & Johnson group has appreciated the investment-friendly climate in Telangana state. The delegation has also appreciated the state government’s cooperation for its existing investments in the state.
The delegation, led by Kathy Wengel, Worldwide Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) met Industries Minister K Tarakarama Rao here on Thursday. The Minister and the team visited the Johnson & Johnson facility located at Kothur, Mahabubnagar district and planted a sapling in its premises.
Later, the minister gave a detailed presentation to the visiting delegation highlighting the investment opportunities in the state in Health Care, Biotechnology, Life Sciences sectors. Minister said that Hyderabad is already known as healthcare/ pharma capital of India, and requested J & J to consider investment opportunities in the proposed Pharma City. Minister also requested J&J leadership to consider establishing an R & D Lab in Hyderabad apart of being an anchor investor in upcoming MedTech Park.
The Minister explained the delegation that state government is giving high priority to investments in the manufacturing sector, and assured of customized incentives to mega investments such as Johnson & Johnson, as per the states’ industrial policy. Minister also explained about TSiPASS, a graft-free single window clearance system of the state and other facilities like availability of abundant water, uninterrupted power supply to the industries in the state. Minister said that Telangana government is looking forward to a mutually beneficial and long-term association with Johnson & Johnson and assured of all possible help to the company.
Kathy Wengel, Worldwide Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) has appreciated the state government and its role in attracting marquee investments into states in last two years. She also expressed their company’s interest in the proposed Medtech Park and asked her Indian team to explore the investment opportunities. (INN)
