Washington : Singer John Lennon’s hair that was snipped before his `How I Won The War` role has been sold for mere 35,000 dollars at an auction.
Dallas-based Heritage Auctions revealed that the 40-year-old singer’s 4-inch lock of hair was purchased by Paul Fraser, a United Kingdom-based memorabilia collector, TMZ.com reports.
A German hairdresser kept a tuft of the `Jealous Guy` hit-maker’s hair after giving him a trim before he started 1967 dark comedy.
His earlier items, ’65 Rolls Royce Phantom V’ was sold for 2.23 million dollars and lyrics to “All You Need is Love” of 1.25 million dollars.
According to sources, the lock was one of several Beatles-related items in the auction.
A photograph of the iconic band signed by all four members went for 42,500 dollars, while a sealed copy of the band’s “butcher” cover for the “Yesterday and Today” album went for 125,000 dollars. (ANI)
