Jogu for modern potteries deal with Gujrat

BC Welfare and Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna today said that Telangana Government will soon sign a memorandum of understanding with Gujrat based MittiCool industry to promote earthen potteries and revive the economic conditions of pottermen in the state. The minister along with MLA Bapu Rao and MBC Corporation Chairman, T Srinivas, Chairman Alok Kumar and Telangana State Kummari Association President Jayanth Rao has visited the Mitti Cool Industry at Vankhener on the outskirts of Rajkot in Gujrat. Ramanna discussed with the persons concerned on 100 varieties of earthen made utensils including fridges, fans, cookers, lanterns, big size vessel to prepare Biryani and others.

The minister said that the Telangana Government will soon sign a deal with two industries for promotion of the earthen utensils in the state. About 6 lakhs of pottermen live in the state and training will be offered to at least 1 lakh pottermen in a fist phase he said. The government will extend support to these families to adopt modern method to prepare earthen pots and household utensils, the minister remarked. (NSS)
