Job racket busted, three held

Hyderabad, April 24: A contract worker in the AP Road Safety Authority (APRSA) and his two associates were held here on Friday for allegedly duping several unemployed youth of over Rs 40 lakh promising jobs in GMR Customer Care at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and also as home guards and contract workers in other government departments.

On a tip-off, Task Force East Zone sleuths nabbed the accused at Chikkadpally and recovered from them application forms of various aspirants, 15 fake Comp-U-Learn computer course certificates and three mobile phones.

The main accused, Sarve Jagadish, has a contract job as a department portal-cum-processing officer in the APRSA, which functions from the Secretariat.

Naveen Reddy, a realtor from Guntur district, and Vijaya Bhaskar, an RTA agent from Gutti in Anantapur, were also involved in the job racket.

Two other accused, Ghouse of Lumtec Consultancy at Tirupati and M Srinivas of Guntur, were absconding, Task Force DCP M Ravindranath Babu told reporters. Jagadish set up an office in the name of `Jayams Computers and Security Service’ at Ashok Nagar from where he operated the racket.

“Jagadish ganged up with Vijaya Bhaskar, Naveen Reddy, Ghouse and Srinivas and lured unemployed youth having degree and inter qualifications with jobs in GMR Customer Care as front office executives and in the cargo department of the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport,” Ravindranath Babu said. They also offered jobs on contract basis in government departments and collected amounts ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 85,000 from each aspirant.

They even appointed agents in Guntur, Tadipatri, Kurnool and Tirupati to entice more youth.

“The accused used to give fake computer training certificates to the candidates to apply for jobs. They used to charge Rs 2,500 for medical tests and send the aspirants to the Medinova Diagnostics where the actual charge is Rs 500 only,” the DCP said. The accused collected money in a similar fashion from DSC aspirants. They prepared fake job orders on the name of Commissioner, Agriculture, Poonam Malakondaiah and fake appointment orders of GMR Customer Care services.
