JNU violence: Bollywood protest peacefully at Carter Road

MUMBAI: Noted Bollywood celebrities like Anurag Kashyap, Anubhav Sinha, Dia Mirza, Zoya Akhtar and others joined the protests to speak up against the attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students.

Videos and photographs on Twitter show Taapsee Pannu, Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha, Gauahar Khan and more celebrities at the silent protest.

Director Neeraj Ghaywan shared a video on Twitter, showing Vishal Bhardwaj reciting a poetry at the protests in solidarity with the students.

Director Hansal Mehta, comedian Kunal Kamra and Rahul Bose were also present with hundreds of people at the peaceful protest.

Director Abhinav Sinha took to social media to appeal to people to gather for a silent protest

At least 20 persons, including JNU Students’ Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured after violence broke out in the campus on Sunday night as masked men armed with sticks attacked students and teachers and damaged property on the campus.
