JNU sex scandal Main accused arrested

New Delhi, May 23: Delhi police has arrested a 23-year-old JNU student allegedly involved in the sex scandal that rocked the University early this year.

Janardan Kumar, originally from Gaya in Bihar, is allegedly involved in recording an objectionable video clipping of a fellow student of Jawaharlal Nehru University, police said.

Kumar was earlier expelled along with another student by JNU authorities after the incident came to light and was probed in an internal inquiry, a report of which was forwarded to the Delhi police.

As police launched its investigation, they found that Kumar had intimate relations with the girl whom he knew for some years, and had recorded an obscene video clipping involving the two.

The videography was then converted into a video file with the help of his friend Balbir and circulated in the campus when Kumar’s relations with the girl had strained.
