JKNPP vice president joins Cong

Srinagar, December 29: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress has got a shot in the arm with Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party leader Sardari Lal Dubey along with his supporters joining the party.

Dubey, who unsuccessfully contested the state assembly elections from Reasi, yesterday joined Congress along with 1,000 JKNPP workers in the presence of state Congress chief Saif-ud-Din Soz in a function held at party headquarters here.

Dubey, who had been JKNPP vice president, later told reporters, “I was associated with Congress since 1973, but was forced to leave it because of the nexus played by our own men.

Today is my home coming and I strongly believe in the leadership of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.”

Welcoming Dubey into the party fold, Soz said Congress’ strength would now further strengthened in Reasi district in particular and state in general.
