J&K police to launch SMS complaint service

Jammu, December 09: Launching the Short Message Service (SMS) to receive complaints and to deal with crime-related incidents in Jammu city, police today said new close circuits cameras are being installed at vulnerable points in the winter capital as a security set-up.

“The new CCTVs are being installed at all the vulnerable points in the Jammu city as upgradation of the security set up here. This will keep an eye on the suspected persons at vulnerable points,” Inspector General of Police Jammu zone Ashok Gupta told reporters while launching first of its kind SMS service to receive complaints from the public.

Gupta further revealed that in order to maintain surveillance in and around Jammu city, the number of existing 16 CCTVs will be raised to 50.
