J&K: Four Indian Reserve Police officer’s dead in Militant blast

New Delhi: Four Policemen patrolling the area in Sapore in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla are reported killed in an IED blast set up by militants.

The Police said three of the four victims identified are ASI Irshad of Doda, M Amin of Kupwara, Ghulam Rasool of Sopore and Ghul Nabi who belonged to 3rd Battalion of Indian Reserve Police.

The IED was planted in a lane between ‘Chotta Bazaar’ and ‘Bada Bazaar’ in Sopore by the Militants.

A PTI report said the officers were patrolling the area in view of a separatist-sponsored strike there.

Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti had expressed grieve at the policemen’s deaths. She said she was “deeply pained” at the deaths.

According to the Police a 25-year-old named Arif Maqbool Sofi was reportedly shot in Sopore by unidentified gunmen.

The Police has registered a case of the same.
