J&K: Army Jawan involved in encounter, Kidnapped at gunpoint

Shopian: Weeks after the encounter of two terrorists – Hizbul Mujahideen and Sameer Tiger was completed in an encounter operation in Pulwama, an Army Jawan who was involved in the operation was allegedly kidnapped by a group of terrorists on his way back home.

The Jawan was kidnapped from Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district while he was on a bus traveling back home after completing his duties, Zee News reported.

According to the reports, the jawan’s identity has not been disclosed yet. A group of heavily armed terrorist abducted him at Gunpoint.

Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger who was the local Hizbul Mujahideen commander and an A++ category terrorist was killed in an encounter at Pulwama’s Drubgam village in May.

Earlier, the Modi government at the Centre had given a nod to eliminate terrorists active in J&K.
