Former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar on Tuesday sought withdrawal of his bail plea from sessions court in the alleged fake degrees case.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was produced before a Saket court yesterday where his police custody was extended by four days.
The Delhi Police had sought his custody for eight days claiming that Tomar was not “cooperating” in the investigation.
The police had also conducted raids on Tomar’s office.
49-year-old Tomar, MLA from Trinagar, had quit as law minister after his arrest on June 9 following an investigation into a complaint by Bar Council of Delhi that he had obtained a fake law degree from the Bihar college.
An FIR was registered against Tomar on June 8 at Hauz Khas police station and he was booked for alleged offences of cheating, forgery, using forged documents as genuine, forgery with intent to cheat and criminal conspiracy.
