Raipur, October 12: A jilted lover was today arrested for allegedly killing a junior doctor here.
Deepak Bardia, who runs an internet cafe in Jagdalpur, allegedly shot dead Pratik Sonwani, a PG student in Ophthalmology department of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, on Friday night, Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said.
The murder was the result of a love triangle, he said.
Bardia, in his confession, told police that he had an affair of eight years with a girl studying at Ayurvedic College of the city.
The girl, however, deserted the accused two years ago and befriended with Sonwani which Bardia did not like, Kumar said.
Bardia, who came here from Jagdalpur, chased the couple when they were going to girl’s home in New Rajendra Nagar locality and shot him dead, he said.
