Jharkhand Will Become Power Hub By 2019, Says Raghubar Das

CHAIBASA, JHARKHAND: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday said the state will become a power hub by 2019 and provide energy to the country in the days to come.

The mineral-rich state will provide energy to the country in the days to come and become a power hub in another three year’s time, he said while laying the foundation stone of a sub-station under Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Rural Electrification scheme in Gudri block of West Singhbhum district.

The power sub-station will be ready in the next six months. The villages of the block will be electrified within six months of completion of the sub-station, Mr Das said, adding he himself would visit Gudri block next year and inaugurate the project of providing electricity to the villages.

He claimed that Jharkhand is moving forward to become self-reliant in energy sector.

The Chief Minister, however, admitted that the Gudri block is deprived of basic amenities such as water, education, and 87 villages out of 88 did not have electricity and assured that the state government will electrify the villages at any cost.

Mr Das appealed to the “misguided youths” to return to the mainstream of the society and take benefit of the government’s policies.

He called upon all the stakeholders to work for eradicating malnutrition in the state, and said everyone should shoulder the responsibility.

On the government’s move to simplify the Chotanagpur Tenancy Act, the Chief Minister said the villagers will get four fold compensation in the next three months in lieu of their land.
