Jharkhand lynching: BJP MP to offer legal aid to the murderers of Muslim men

RANCHI: BJP parliamentarian Nishikant Dubey promises to pay legal bills of accused in connection with the lynching of two Muslim men in Jharkhand’s Godda on suspicion of cattle theft .

“They’ve been falsely implicated. They’ve been sent to jail. Those, who can’t fight their case, the government provides them legal aid. And since I am their MP, I, in my capacity, will take care of every single expense that they will incur in fighting their case from the lower court to the Supreme Court,” he was quoted by NDTV.

Two Muslims Chiraguddin alias Charku Ansari, 35, and Murtaza Ansari, 30, were beaten to death by mob of some 100 people on June 13 accusing them of stealing cattle in tribal-dominated Dullu village in Godda district while the other three managed to fled the spot.

The two deceased were residents of Taljhari in the district.

Following the incident, Godda police arrested arrested persons, Munsi Murmu, Kaleshwar Soren, Kishan Rai Tudu and Johan Kisku under various section of IPC. It registered a FIR against the four and 100 other unknown persons who are yet to be arrested.
