Jharkhand heading towards financial anarchy: BJP

Jamshedpur, October 16: Expressing concern over poor revenue collection by the Jharkhand Administration, BJP today said the mineral-rich state was heading towards “financial anarchy”.

Jharkhand Governor K Shankarnarayanan was spending a large amount of money in the name of development in contrast to poor revenue generation, president of the state unit of the party Raghuvar Das said.

Addressing a press conference here, he claimed Jharkhand has achieved only Rs 2,200 crore revenue collection till September, which was only 26 per cent of the state budget of about Rs 8,800 crores.

He also questioned the relevance of spending crores of rupees on AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s security, who toured Jharkhand for two days from October 14.

He claimed Gandhi’s visit would have no impact on the Assembly elections in the state as people want BJP to form an honest and stable government.
