Jharkhand govt to take action against shell companies

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today directed Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma to take stringent action against shell companies in the state.

The chief secretary subsequently issued this instruction to deputy commissioners and superintendents of police of all districts, an official release said.

The release quoted the chief secretary as saying that under Section 250 of the Company Act, the deputy commissioners would take custody of shell companies.

Das said genuine companies are welcomed from the heart, but there is no place for shell companies in the state.

A total 634 shell companies of the state were removed under Section 248 (5) of the Company Act 2013, the release said.
