Ranchi, April 15: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda today said his government was planning to bring in an ordinance in the wake of displacement of several BPL families from encroached land which triggered agitations here.
“Senior officials and the legal department are asked to look into legal aspects so that an ordinance could be brought about to accommodate BPL families; as the state government’s desire is to provide quality life to every one,” Munda told newsmen here.
The officials concerned were also asked to keep observations made by Supreme Court and the high court on encroachment and study the policies of other states on encroachment disputes.
His reaction comes in the background of Ranchi district administration demolishing several houses at Islam Nagar and Nagababa Khatal among other areas following the high court directive.
