Ahmedabad, September 17: Sohrabuddin encounter : Former home minister’s lawyer produces a document, senior CBI counsel KTS Tulsi disowns it
Sparks flew in the special CBI court here on Thursday as ace Supreme Court lawyers Ram Jethmalani and KTS Tulsi faced each other after a series of adjournments during the hearing on the bail petition of Amit Shah, the fallen former junior minister arrested in connection with his role in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.
Arguing for Shah, his lawyer Ram Jethmalani alleged the CBI was trying to implicate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the case.
Claiming the case against Shah was politically motivated, Jethmalani referred to an alleged CBI document that purportedly proposed to arrest Amit Shah, Abhay Chudasama, P C Pande, Jitendra Yadav and Geetha Johri and was sent by the investigating officers to CBI’s top bosses in Delhi on June 29, 2010. Jethmalani submitted the document along with the bail petition of Shah.
