Jet, Jet Lite combine emerges market leader in Feb

New Delhi, March 21: Domestic carriers flew 45.75 lakh passenger in the month of February this year registering an increase of 18.45 per cent over last year during the same period, with Jet Airways and JetLite combine emerging as the market leader.

During the month, Jet Airways had a market share of 18 per cent while JetLite had 8.1 per cent.

Kingfisher had a market share of 19 per cent followed by the Delhi-based no frill airline, IndiGo, which reported a market share of 18.7 per cent, the latest data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) shows.

Air India (domestic) reported a market share of 15.8 per cent.

While the number of passengers flown in February this year is more than the previous year, it is less than the 49.36 lakh passengers in January this year.
