CLP Deputy Leader T Jeevan Reddy has addressed a letter to Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya here on Tuesday urging him to see that the funds released by the Centre to the State not diverted to other departments.
In his letter, Jeevan Reddy stated the Centre had released Rs 720 crore as input subsidy for the farmers of the drought-hit mandals. But the TRS government has not yet distributed the same to the farmers even after eight months leaving the farmers in lurch. He also reminded that the State government was not paying the labourers benefiting with the NREGS for the last six months leading to Rs 200 crore arrears.
Jeevan Reddy alleged that the TRS government was not paying salaries to the Mid-Day meal workers for the last four months. He said these were only examples to tell as to how the State government was diverting the funds released by the Centre. Jeevan Reddy said Dattatreya, who was a lone Union Minister from Telangana State, has responsibility to see that the funds released by the Centre are spent by the State government properly. He also asked the Union Minister to make the State government to distribute input subsidy to the farmers in drought-hit mandals; to make the State government pay bills to the laborers of NREGS; to make the State government pay daily wages to Mid-Day meals workers in time.
