Former minister and senior Congress leader T. Jeevan Reddy has said that there was no meaning in discussing whether YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was a ‘Reddy’ or not as original ‘Reddys’ were with the Congress.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, Jeevan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was not able to woo ‘Reddys’ being a Reddy himself. He also faulted Kiran Kumar Reddy for lamenting that he was not getting support from the Reddy community. Pointing out that cracks in the Congress party started with Kiran Kumar Reddy taking over as Chief Minister, Jeevan Reddy said that the Chief Minister’s speeches were demoralizing the Party cadre, he added.
Referring to the Chief Minister’s observation that the time of his assuming office was not auspicious and therefore elections were occurring every three months instead of five years and was not able to do anything for the people, Jeevan Reddy lashed out at the Chief Minister for stating that some people were agitating for division of the State. He alleged that the Chief Minister was talking about the Telangana issue without any knowledge. He also accused Kiran Kumar Reddy of being brain behind anti-Telangana discussions in Seemandhra region. (NSS)
