CLP deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy has demanded that the State government ensure that private schools earmark 25 percent seats to the poor and Dalit students under Right To Education Act. He said the State government must introduce English medium in all the government schools.
Jeevan Reddy addressed a letter to the Chief Minister in this regard on Saturday. While releasing a copy of the letter to the media, Jeevan Reddy said it was sad that still there were differences in the society as poor and rich. He also pointed out that the TRS could implement its promise of free KG-to-PG education. He asked the government to provide adequate infrastructure by identifying the schools which have no basic facilities.
Finding fault with the residential schools for not having Class 1 to V, Jeevan Reddy asked the government to introduce English medium the in government schools. The education in the government schools would have changed better had the government spent at least Rs.200 crore from the budget allocated to Education. (NSS)
