KBN College of Engineering (KBNCE) Gulbarga, one of the famous engineering colleges in Karnataka with 9 faculties, launched its first alumni on Saturday at a local restaurant here.
This first meeting was attended by 50 former students of the college.
The program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur’an by Eng. Syed Mohiuddin while Eng. Wajhath shah khan welcomed the guests and appreciated the enthusiasm of all ex-students of KBNCE.
Professor Neyamatullah from Taif University, ex-student of KBNCE, highlighted the aims and objectives of the alumni, encouraging all members to work with dedication for this social cause.
He appealed to all other ex-students of KBNCE, residing in other parts of the Kingdom, to join the alumni.
He also said that members can duly utilize this platform for upgrading and sharpening their skills.
Professor Ruksar Fatima, director and head of the department of Biomedical Engineering at KBNCE, who was on a short visit to the Kingdom for Umrah, attended the event as the chief guest.
Fatima highlighted the current progress of college, stating how it started with only two faculties and now hosts nine faculties with post graduation courses.
Around 11,000 students have graduated from the college, she said.
“We are first in Karnataka to have a petrochemical branch in our college,” Fatima said.
Fifteen members joined the executive committee of to form a governing body.
The program was anchored by Engr. Syed Nasir Khursheed in which he highlighted that the idea was conceived by Dr. Syed Khusro Hussaini, president of Khaja Education society, to form the alumni and appreciate the vision of Late Mohammed Hussaini.
Mohammed Imdad Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
On behalf of the alumni, he appreciated Fatima and Hussaini’s encouragement to form the alumni.
