New Delhi: A Janata Dal (Secular) worker slapped a woman party worker during a meeting in Karnataka’s Koppal district on Friday.
The meeting was being held to discuss the issue of extending support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in district municipality.
A JD (S) worker named Chennappa Yadavar stood up and slapped another party worker Vijaya Hirematt for not raising her hand in support of BJP.
JD (S) leader Danish Ali condemned the incident and assured strict action against Yadavar.
“Whether it is our party councillor or any other, we condemn it. It is unpardonable. We do not approve such type of incidents…. There is not place for such assault on women in civilised society,” he told ANI.
