Jammu, March 19: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) today committed suicide allegedly by shooting himself with his service rifle in Poonch district.
Naib Subedar Ganga Ram of 49 RR committed suicide by shooting himself with his personal weapon at an army barrack in Mendhar belt of Poonch district this afternoon, Defence spokesman Lt Col Biplab Nath told PTI.
He said a court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
Preliminary investigation pointed out that domestic problem could be the cause behind the JCO taking the extreme step, the spokesman said, adding he had recently joined duty after two-month leave.
