JC irks AP CM, expects package

Hyderabad: Even as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is drawing a flak from Opposition parties on special tag and was making every effort to get it from the Centre, Telugu Desam MP and former minister JC Diwakar Reddy made a startling revelation that the Centre would not accord special tag even if Naidu resigns from his post.

Interacting with mediapersons at Assembly lobbies on the second day of Monsoon session here on Tuesday, Diwakar Reddy, known for his wit and outspoken nature, blasted the Centre saying it was not inclined to give special status to Andhra Pradesh though Chandrababu resigns from his post. “If there is a chance for special tag, I will resign to MP post along with 10 other MPs he said. His remarks of ‘outdated’ attributed to Naidu for not losing cool immediately and showing patience on criticism and comments often made by opposition parties. While opposition leader is our man who used to make serious comments and needs to learn more he opined. However, referring to the Centre’s reluctance Diwakar Reddy maintained that instead it may give better financial package to Andhra Pradesh than Bihar. It may be noted that the Bihar state which is going to polls got a whopping Rs 1.25 lakh crore package from none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his campaign recently. (NSS)
