Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s CM Jayalalitha fulfilled promises made by her during the election campaigns, as soon as she assumed the office.
Jayalalitha waived off medium and long term loans taken by the farmers till March 31 2016, from co-operative banks.
The Government said it would incur an additional expenditure of Rs. 5,780 crore. The previous Government had sanctioned interest-free crop loan to the tune of Rs. 20,786 crore to 46.44 lakh farmers.
